'Stumpin' for Scholarships raises funds in memory of Brett Flexer

"Stumpin" for Scholarships is an unusual fundraiser to help raise funds for the Brett Flexer Memorial Fund. Through this service, Stumped Landscaping and Stump Grinding of Lehighton will clean up your property and get rid of unsightly stumps, trim your tree, bushes or shrubs, do late season leaf clean up and remove debris. Twenty-five percent of the profits will benefit the Brett Flexer Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Last year Caitlin Roth was awarded $500 at the Lehighton Area High School awards assembly. The scholarship memorializes Brett M. Flexer, of Lehighton, who was 20 years old when he died suddenly on April 23, 2011 in his home. He was the son of Randy R. and Karen S. (Breiner) Flexer and was a 2009 graduate of Lehighton Area High School, where he was an outstanding member of the wrestling team, and was a student at Lycoming College, where he participated in wrestling at the college level. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mahoning Valley. In his spare time, Brett had enjoyed weightlifting and physical fitness at the gymnasium. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed deer hunting and running his ATV.For information or free estimates contact Matthew at (610) 577-5172 or email
