Firefighters from two counties battled a stubborn structure fire Wednesday afternoon in Lower Towamensing Township. The fire was first reported at 2:40 p.m. to the rear of 880 Little Gap road. When fire companies from Aquashicola, Palmerton and Walnutport arrived on scene the large wood frame structure was fully involved in flames. Fire police shut down Little Gap road for over an hour. One firefighter was treated at the scene by medical personnel. Fire apparatus finally cleared the scene at 5:36 p.m. The structure and its contents were a total loss.
