Local veterans saluted at Lehighton Area Middle School

Local veterans recently were saluted by Lehighton Area Middle School Student Advisory Council.

Veterans visited all of the classrooms at the school and talked to the students about their experiences in the military. After their presentations, the Veterans were entertained with a short concert by the fifth and sixth grade band under the direction of Thomas Weidner.To conclude the day, the Lehighton Are Middle School Student Advisory Council, under the direction of their adviser, John J Lopata prepared a dinner and served the Veterans a meal as a thank you for their dedication to our country.Each veteran received a thank you card and a special Veterans Day key chain.A special presentation of an American flag in a display case was presented to Randy Rabenold who is one of the oldest Veterans to come to the school.Last year the SAC honored Carl Christman a World War II veteran.
