Show held for drama club advisor still in coma

ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS Students with the Tamaqua High School's Drama Club held a Cabaret Show titled "Dreams for Janet" in support of their advisor Janet Paisley Smolden, 42, of West Penn Township. Smoldon is still in a coma in St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem after a driver, driving under the influence, crashed into her head-on along SR309 on the morning of Oct. 18. "These students are the most organized group of students I had the pleasure of working with," said fill-in advisor Drusilla Laughman. In addition to the performance and finale dance routine, everyone was presented with a recorded message from June Klees, one of Janet's closest's friends, who described Janet as an inspiration for all to follow. "She has done so much for each of us," said club member Erica Cassell. Students, calling themselves Kasey and Kennedy, perform a dance number in the above photo.
