Celebrating 10 years of health and wellness

St. Luke's Physical Therapy celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Jim Thorpe facility with an open house at its location on State Route 903.

The event was open to St. Luke's patients, referring doctors, and invited guests.The facility's staff was on hand to explain the benefits of physical therapy and transitioning into a fitness program.It was also an opportunity to showcase the facility's newly renovated patient care area and fitness center.In addition to their new look, the clinic also gave the guests the opportunity to meet with their rehab staff including new Clinic Coordinator Michael Strucko, DPT; Physical Therapist Gina Urbon, MPT; and Exercise Physiologist Joseph Paluck.Clinic Coordinator Michael Strucko, DPT said that the event served a three-fold purpose which are "to celebrate 10-plus years of service to the local communities with physical therapy and fitness services; to thank our referral sources, all the physicians, physician's assistants, and nurse practitioners; and to have an opportunity to showcase the facility's newly renovated patient care area and fitness center."Also present was the President of St. Luke's Miner's Campus, William Moyer who said "we're really excited about this center, it really speaks to our mission.""We've been growing our orthopedic business and orthopedics and physical therapy go hand-in-hand.""We've tried to provide a complete service through our orthopedics service line connected to the physical therapy and we have a great team that works out here at Jim Thorpe as well as at our other centers.""We do hip replacements and knee replacements, they're pretty intense surgeries and our goal here is, through the physical therapy, to get people back to working and back to enjoying what they like to do.""Jim Thorpe is one of five centers with others located at St. Luke's Miner's Campus in Coaldale, Mahanoy City, West Penn, and Blakeslee.""The centers are staffed by Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Exercise Technologists, and Physiologists."President Moyer continued "we survey our patients that come through our physical therapy centers and right now our scores are in the 99 percentile, which means that's the top score for customer service.""The customer service that this team provides has been exceptional.""We trying to promote health and wellness and this is a great center to exercise in to be healthy.""We invite the public to come by and check us out and learn more about our physical therapy and fitness services."The Jim Thorpe center's hours are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 7:00 am to 7:00 pm; Tuesdays and Fridays 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.Anyone interested in receiving more information about St. Luke's Physical Therapy center in Jim Thorpe can call them at (570) 325-4711.
