Last week, Superstorm Sandy brought death, disaster, destruction and darkness to millions living along the East Coast.

This week, a Nor'easter is forecast to hit the same areas that are still trying to pick up the pieces from their homes and lives that were destroyed by one of Mother Nature's most powerful storms.In the TIMES NEWS coverage area, many residents who just regained power to their homes from the high winds and rain that blew through last week, may now have to break out the snow shovels.According to the National Weather Service, a winter weather advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Thursday for many areas in Northeast Pennsylvania.The storm was expected to move into the area this morning in the form of light rain and snow and continue into the late afternoon when it will begin falling more heavily. A mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain is possible throughout the evening before changing over to mainly rain.The exact amount of snow that will fall as the storm moves through will depend on the temperatures.Forecasts show that temperatures in the mid to upper 30s are expected during the day and afternoon hours, and drop to around freezing tonight.Winds will remain a factor for the possibility of more power outages as steady northerly winds up to 25 MPH with gusts up to 50 MPH are predicted.A chance of rain, snow or sleet is possible Thursday morning before the storm moves out of the region. Temperatures will then rise into the 40s and continue the upward trend through next week.
