A rear-end crash occurred in a construction zone along Interstate 81 in Kline Township, Schuylkill County Tuesday. State police at Frackville said the crash occurred about 4:10 p.m. on Tuesday. Troopers said the crash occurred in an area where the two southbound lanes narrow to a single lane due to a temporary construction zone traffic pattern. Troopers said a 2012 Toyota Corolla was behind a 2013 Freightliner tractor with trailer. The rig, operated by Peter Juers, 53, of Millville, Minn., braked due to slow traffic. The operator of the Toyota failed to stop and rear-ended the trailer. Troopers said the driver of the Toyota and a passenger, were both were flown by Medevac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, with non-life threatening injuries. Troopers said the names of the two were not immediately known. Juers was not injured. Damages were termed heavy to the front of the Toyota and minor to the trailer.
