The Panther Valley Republican Club, which now represents Republicans from Lansford, Nesquehoning and Summit Hill, is holding a rally at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1 at the New Columbus Fire Company. Rep. Doyle Heffley, who is seeking re-election in the 122nd District, will be the main speaker.NesquehoningWoman's clubThe next meeting of the Nesquehoning Woman's Club will take place at 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 5 at the Zion Lutheran Church.The hospitality committee will be chaired by Ursula Digilio. Her committee is Marilyn Amodea, Maria Mihalski, Jean Mikovich, Mary Arieta, Maureen Digilio and Rose Maliniak.President Carol Zickler has asked all members planning to attend the Christmas dinner to make their reservations with Jane Pietruch as soon as possible. The dinner will be held Dec. 3 at DiMaggio's in Tamaqua. Rides will be available.The program for November's meeting will feature Joseph Paluck on New Hospital Changes.St. John LutheranTonight at 7 p.m., St. John's Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, will hold an informal worship. This will be a spiritual, peaceful, evening service with Holy Communion. All are welcome to this relaxed, brief, musical, evening prayer.For those who wish to come early, a free simple supper is served at 6 p.m., followed by a brief adult Bible study at 6:30.
