Marian go for gold

Marian Catholic High School's Future Business Leaders of America will host its second annual Charity Football Game on Nov. 2, when the host Colts take on local rival, the Tamaqua Area Blue Raiders, in a football contest

This year's theme is "Go Gold for the Goal" to help raise money for Childhood Cancer Awareness. All proceeds from the game will benefit the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic dance marathon, also known as THON. The marathon raises money for the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital. There, they help provide financial support to the children, families, researchers, and staff to help conquer pediatric cancer.During the football game, players and staff will wear gold to show their support. Marian fans are encouraged to wear gold for a "Gold Out". FBA members will be selling shirts and gold rubber bracelets for anyone who would like to help the cause. Gold balloons may also be purchased and at halftime of the game will be "lifted off" mid field in memory of the children who have died from cancer and for the children who are still suffering. There will also be a baked goods sale.Anyone who donates will receive a gold ribbon to wear in honor of the children-any donation counts. Please come to the game, show your support and help make a difference in someone's life.
