The Badlees will be in concert tonight at M.C. Opera House
The Badlees, in support of their latest album release "See Me As A Picture: The Best So Far," will perform at the historic Mauch Chunk Opera House this evening.
Originally from Selinsgrove, The Badlees are celebrating 22 years of making rock music together with the release of "See Me," the band's first compilation album of their prolific career.Now available everywhere, "See Me As A Picture: The Best, So Far," is an 18-song compilation of musical highlights from the band's career that tries to accomplish the unthinkable task of representing their decades long career in an hour of music.In 1990, the band embarked of creating The Badlees sound. Since then, the music business has seen its fair share of trends but The Badlees only focused on their own trend; making great music without regard to what is in vogue."Jim Thorpe is one of our favorite places to play and the Opera House show has become an annual Fall tradition for us."explains Pete Palladino, lead singer. For the past few years, The Badlees have brought their high energy rock show to packed Opera House crowds in Jim Thorpe."The building is a special place and we always try to bring something special to the fans who come out to this show. This year we're excited to debut some new music from our upcoming record atthe Opera House." added guitarist Bret Alexander.The Badlees, based in Northeastern Pennsylvania, are currently in the recording studio working on their eighth full length album which will be released in the Fall of 2013. The project is proving to be the band's most ambitious recording to date marking the band's first double album."We've been writing songs for this project for the past year or so and we've never felt better about the material heading into the recording process than we do this record. At last count,"There were over 75 songs written for this record and it was an impossible task to narrow it down to just 12 songs tore cord. So we decided to make it easy on ourselves and record a double record. That's the beauty of being an independent artist again.
