Harrisburg - In an effort to provide the most up-to-date information to holders of small games of chance licenses, lawmakers from Northampton and Lehigh counties are hosting a Small Games of Chance Seminar on Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 6-9 p.m. (doors open at 5:30 p.m.) at the Blue Mountain Fish and Game Association in Walnutport.

Lawmakers hosting the event include Reps. Julie Harhart (R-Slatington), Gary Day (R-New Tripoli), Joe Emrick (R-Mt. Bethel), Marcia Hahn (R-Nazareth), Ryan Mackenzie (R-Emmaus) and Justin Simmons (R-Bethlehem).Recent updates to the Local Options Small Games of Chance Act, which had not been changed since 1988, improve fundraising abilities for nonprofit associations, charitable organizations and other civic groups through increased limits for prize payouts.Many organizations have requested further clarity on the law, which is why local lawmakers are hosting the event.The seminar will include a PowerPoint presentation by the Pennsylvania State Police, Bureau of Liquor Enforcement Unit. In addition, a panel of experts, including Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli, Lehigh County District Attorney James Martin, and representatives from both county treasurer offices, will also provide information and be available to answer questions.Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by calling the appropriate member's office by Friday, Oct. 19: Rep.
