Two Lehighton residents were charged by borough police for violating a ordinance concerning wild or exotic animals.

Police said Michael Hoffman, 32, and Brandi Lee Lehrian, 28, both of 225 N. Second St., were cited for the violation. Police said the two had been keeping a ball python constricting type snake and two corn snakes in their home, which is prohibited by ordinance 85-13 A.The citations were issued on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 3:24 p.m. in the 200 block of N.
