An inmate at the state correctional institution at Mahanoy, Frackville, Schuylkill County, has admitted making a false report to police.

State police at Frackville have charged Michael Lee Reed, 33, with false reports to law enforcement authorities. Troopers said on Sept. 18 Reed was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-E. Norwegian St., Pottsville, for treatment and examination. Reed reported that he was assaulted by another inmate at the prison while in his cell.Troopers said an investigation into the assault report proved it to be false. When confronted with the evidence Reed admitted making a false report, troopers said.
