The Gathering

The Gathering, the annual autumn community festival sponsored by the Northern Lehigh Historical Society, will be held Saturday, starting at 1 p.m.The main festivities will be located at the Trout Run Covered Bridge along Seventh Street in Slatington, although the entire Slate Heritage Trail will be open.Events and activities include live music throughout the day, food and beverages from area vendors, the Great Slatington Duck Race and more.A grand fireworks display will take place at 9:30 p.m. Entertainment will continue afterward.Parking is available at the Bob LaBold Maintenance Building on W. Church Street.There will be no parking at the covered bridge, or on Seventh Street.The Gathering will be held rain or shine.For more information, visit

There were 493 registered cars.Lions celebrating birthdays are Rodney Cressman (Oct. 1) and John Parry (Oct. 8).
