Author to sign books in Jim Thorpe

M. Digioia Bogin, author of "Sons of Light" will be at the Dimmick Friends Book Sale on Saturday, Oct. 6 from noon to 4 p.m. She will do a meet a greet and will sign copies of her new book."Sons of Light" is a captivating book that has the human race caught in between a riveting battle of supernatural forces. The story unfolds in the year 2125 and the world is in a state of chaos. Chief Diehm can be reached at (570) 325-3890 if you wish to have a detector for your residence.Post-reunion meetingThe committee that planned the recent Jim Thorpe High School reunion for the classes of 1955-1965, will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 6:30 p.m. in the district administration building. They will discuss the forming of a Jim Thorpe Alumni Association, similar to the Jim Thorpe Sports Hall of Fam Association.Celebration worship serviceSunday, Oct. 14, during the 10:30 a.m. worship service, members of St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, will celebrate the restoration of their organ and chimes, the dedication of the new baptismal area and the new gowns for the acolytes and readers.A fellowship dinner will be in the fellowship hall following the service. There will be nominal fee for each adult planning to attend. Reservations and money is due to Dave or Irene Remmel, by Sunday, Oct. 7.
