Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits appearing Friday at Penn's Peak

Alert "Noonatics" - Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone will be at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe this coming Friday night.

Noonatics are those crazy people who will come at all costs and distances to be at a Hermit's Hermits concert. These fans of all ages, sizes, shapes, genders and nationalities will jump through hoops, fly from England and Florida, Texas and California to join to gather together for the fun.Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the concert will begin at 8 p.m.Peter Noone, also known as Herman, is the lead singer of Herman's Hermits. He is more than a singer, he is also an accomplished actor who has been entertaining audiences all his life.In school he studied voice and acting and started his career as Stanley Fairclough in the soap opera Coronation Street. It was not until he was 15 that he became famous as "Herman."Herman's Hermits were a 60s pop band with a slew of hits including "I'm Into Something Good," "I'm Henry VIII, I Am" and "Mrs. Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter." All in all, Herman's Hermits sold over 80 million recordings of which 14 singles and seven albums went gold and there were 20 Top 20 hits in there as well.Over the years, Peter was everywhere; magazine covers, top rated TV shows, Broadway, feature films, a TV show host and even on the soap opera As The World Turns.Growing up in Manchester, England, Peter found himself a national and international star on all levels.All this publicity contributed to Herman's Hermits twice being named Cashbox's "Entertainer of The Year." He has created two websites that have become so popular The New York Times call him the "King of The Sixties on The Internet."In 1965 and 1966, the group rivaled The Beatles on the US charts and was the top-selling pop act in the U.S. in 1965.The group was nominated for two Grammy Awards in 1965 for "Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Daughter".Peter pokes fun at himself on his website as Dr. Noone, giving out advice to anyone with "mental problems" or he gives advice as a "registered dietitian" and he also blogs as "Herman" admitting he shares his name with no one but his sisters.
