The United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that a Schuylkill County resident was sentenced to 132 months in prison last week by Senior U.S. District Court Judge Richard P. Conaboy for receiving and distributing child pornography.

According to United States Attorney Peter J. Smith, Dean Livingstone, 42, of New Philadelphia, previously admitted to using a computer to download and share images of child pornography between May 2008 and June 2009.Livingstone was indicted by a federal grand jury on March 16, 2010. Livingstone's arrest resulted from an investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.Judge Conaboy also ordered that Livingstone be placed on supervised release for life following his prison sentence. Livingstone was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and a $100 special assessment. The judge deferred ruling on the question of restitution for 90 days.This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
