The Lehighton Water Company, alert to future needs of this expanding section, is installing a 16 inch water pipe line from Long Run to Packerton. The present line runs under the Lehigh River. The new line will be a suspension one or a miniature of the Brooklyn Bridge. Two piers of concrete are being erected, one on each side of the river. They will form the bases for which two cables will swing. The work is being done by the Delaware Valley Utilities Company, and 20 men are employed on the project.
