Dedication ceremonies were held at two playground sites in Parryville. Dedicated and officially opened to the public were the Parryville Memorial Park, which was constructed last summer adjacent to the Parryville Cemetery on Second Street, and the Harry E. Orkin playground adjacent to the Parryville Dam. Dr. Robert Mlkvy of Palmerton, one of he finest basketball players ever to play in the region, spoke at the Memorial Park program. George Babyar, Lehighton Recreation director, was the keynote speaker at the Orkin playground.
