A Carbon County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 3:43 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, along Fireline Road, in Lower Towamensing Township.

State police at Lehighton said they responded to the above location to a report of a vehicle parked on the roadway. Upon arrival troopers observed the Riverwalck Shuttle parked on the road. The driver was identified as Steven Deboer, 53, of Palmerton. He was found to be intoxicated and was placed under arrest for DUI.The DUI charge is pending, troopers added.
