Voter registration day scheduled for Sept. 8

Right to Vote will have non-partisan volunteers at the Jim Thorpe Market, the Carbon Mall near Giant, and in Palmerton at Country Harvest Market and Family Dollar Store from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8 to help voters obtain proper documentation for a state-issued ID, or help them register to vote in the November election.

Pennsylvania's new voter ID law will have a direct impact on citizens who exercise their right to vote. Starting this November, every voter will be required to show a valid form of Identification in order to vote. If you do not have a valid form of identification, the state will provide one to you at not cost. Do not wait until November to obtain it. Take the steps now to make sure that your vote counts in this year's election.*Jim Thorpe: Jim Thorpe Market, 1 River Street*Lehighton: Carbon Mall, 1241 Blakeslee Drive near Giant*Palmerton: Country Harvest Family Market, 572 Delaware Ave.*Palmerton: Family Dollar Store, 545 Delaware Ave.Contact Eileen East (570) 325-0216 for more information.
