Jim Thorpe will be the next town featured in WVIA's "Our Town" documentary series. It all begins on Thursday, Sept. 13 in the auditorium at St. John's Lutheran Church located at 611 North Street (East Side) in Jim Thorpe, as WVIA holds a volunteer planning meeting at 6:30 p.m. All residents of Jim Thorpe are encouraged to attend.

The "day-in-the-life" one-hour video scrapbook will focus on the people, places and happenings of Jim Thorpe, as seen through the eyes of its residents.At the volunteer planning meeting, residents from Jim Thorpe will discuss which landmarks, events and local stories the program should tell about their town. WVIA will answer questions about the project during the meeting and ask volunteers to brainstorm a list of subjects and events to videotape. The volunteers will later videotape the footage around Jim Thorpe with the help of WVIA to create the documentary. The "Our Town" documentary series is intended to treat viewers to the many personalities, perspectives, and possibilities that local towns have to offer.
