Blue Mountain Health System will co-sponsor an AARP Driver Safety Course on Wed., Sept. 12, from 12-4 p.m. at the Bowmanstown Medical Plaza, 204 Bank Street in Bowmanstown.

The course is designed for drivers 50 years of age or older and is classroom instruction only. The four-hour refresher course is for drivers who have previously taken the AARP driver safety course within the last 36 months or have an active discount on your insurance policy only. Drivers completing the AARP Driver Safety Refresher Course will receive a certificate which entitles them to a rate reduction on auto insurance. People who are interested in taking the course should confirm with their auto insurance company as to the discount percentage. The usual discount is five percent, and the certificate is valid for three years. AARP membership is not required.There is a fee to cover books and supplies: AARP members, $12; non-members, $14. Proof of AARP membership is required. Class size is limited and registration is required at (610)377-7070. Please bring a completion certificate from a previously taken driver safety course or proof of completion on your insurance and your own snacks and beverages.
