A Palmerton Area High School graduate, Miss Anne Humphries, was selected as Miss Carbon County of 1966. The 18-year-old attractive brunette is the daughter of Mrs. Helen Humphries of Palmerton. The new queen, who takes the throne of Miss Lynette Tirpak of Summit Hill, was first in the talent competition with her vocal and marimba solos in the fluorescent setting. She won over 10 other girls. Runner-up was Anita Straubinger of JimThorpe.
