The Tamaqua Area Adult Day Care Center has a variety of activities planned for September, including the celebration of National Adult Day Care Week from Sept. 17-23.Other activities for the month will include: Sept. 5, bingo; Sept. 12, craft day; Sept. 13, trip to Heisler's Dairy Bar; Sept. 17, spaghetti dinner and flu shots; Sept. 18, cooking class; Sept. 19, Salvation Army service; Sept. 24, musical entertainment with Audrey Christ; Sept. 28, visit from the foot doctor.In addition to weekly sing-a-longs, exercise sessions, a variety of therapies and social games, the center provides for hairstyling and manicure service.Both require advance notice. Breakfast, lunch and a snack are served daily.Anyone interested in obtaining more information about the center, becoming a member of the board of directors, or services provided, may call (570) 668-6577 or visit Monday through Friday, between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.Memorial fundA memorial fund has been established in the name of former Tamaqua resident Kimberly Mateyak Griffith, who tragically drowned last August in Pittsburgh, along with her daughters Brenna and Mikaela. The fund will be used to remodel an exam room at the Presbyterian Medical Clinic in Belize, where Kim served as a dental assistant on one of her mission trips to Belize.Donations may be made to MTW, P.O.
