Exchange students, past, present and future meet in JT

The Rotary Club of Jim Thorpe is rich with exchange students at the present time, three of whom met together with club officers at Jim Thorpe Area High School.

Meeting along with Susan Sterling, Exchange student counselor, and Bob Stevenson, Rotary Club of Jim Thorpe president and Youth Exchange officer, were exchange students Terry Loyd, David Castro, and Jessica Wetzel.Loyd, 17, returned in July from Hungary where she stayed with Rotary-sponsored host families in Szolnok for the 2011-2012 school year.Castro, also 17, recently arrived from Madrid, Spain for the 2012-2013 school year at Jim Thorpe Area High School where he will be a senior along with Loyd.He is currently staying with the Lawrence family in Jim Thorpe.Wetzel, 16, will be leaving shortly to stay with host families near Lake Como north of Milan, Italy, also for the current school year.All three have or will enjoy life in a new culture and language.The the Youth Exchange Program is just one of the many projects for youth sponsored by the Rotary Club of Jim Thorpe.For more information, their website is
