Tamaqua carnival draws attention to Chiari and Syringomyelia patients

Volunteers with Raynes's Brain Team of the Conquer Chiari Walk Across America, as well as volunteers with the South Ward Playground Association, held a mini-carnival recently at the South Ward Playground in Tamaqua on behalf of the C & S Patient Education Foundation.

C&S Patient Education Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the experiences and outcomes of Chiari and Syringomyelia patients through education, awareness and research.The event, organized by Julie Leopard of Tamaqua, consisted of many games, activities and foods, to include a dunk tank, Bingo, bounce house, Chinese auction, cotton candy, toss games and so on. In addition, a benefit walk will be held on Sept. 22 in Media PA. Individuals form teams and register to walk the day of the event. For more information or to donate, go to
