Area man sentenced for Hometown theft

An area resident was one of two sentenced by Schuylkill County judges on criminal charges.

Franklin J. Kunkel III, 21, Quakake, Rush Township, pleaded guilty to charges of criminal conspiracy, retail theft from Walmart Store, Hometown, and receiving multiple electronic items stolen from the store last Dec. 8.He was placed by President Judge William E. Baldwin in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) to serve 24 months, undergo long term residential drug and alcohol inpatient treatment, electronic monitoring the last six months of his probation, receive intensive outpatient drug and alcohol treatment at the Schuylkill Health Service in Saint Clair, submit to weekly screen tests, and perform 40 hours of community services. He was cited by Rush Township Patrolman Carl Bachart.Kyle R. Wronski, Morea, Mahanoy Township, after being revoked from the Intermediate Punishment Program was re-sentenced by Judge Charles M. Miller to serve 24 to 48 months in a state correctional facility on five counts each of possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, and misbranding a controlled substance. He also must pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account and $302 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. He was cited by Mahanoy City police.
