Six area residents among 56 arraigned by DA

Six area residents were among 56 who were arraigned on criminal charges Monday before District Attorney Karen Byrnes Noon in the Schuylkill County courthouse and all entered pleas of not guilty and requested trial by jury. They were:

Robert John Rex, 18, of 39 Angel Drive, New Ringgold, charged by West Penn Township Patrolman Melissa M. Boyer, with eight counts of aggravated assault, seven counts of recklessly endangering another person, four counts of stop sign violation, three counts of trespass by motor vehicle and one count each of flight to avoid apprehension, driving under the influence (DUI) of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, involved in accident with police car, (rammed it), disorderly conduct, failed to have a driver's license, reckless driving, careless driving, duty of driver to yield on approaching emergency vehicle, traveling on a cultivated farm land, and failing to drive on right side of road last June 13.Deanna K. Semanoff, 23, of 160 S. Fifth St., Lehighton, charged by Shenandoah Capt. George Carado, with delivery of a controlled substance (CS), possession with intent to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia last April 23. She also faces the same charges by the Schuylkill County Drug Task Force arising from a sale to a confidential informant (CI) last May 1 in Shenandoah.Kevin L.
