Six area residents among 41 placed in probation program

Six area residents were among 41 who were chosen by District Attorney Karen Byrnes Noon to be eligible for the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation program.

At a hearing held in the Schuylkill County Court Senior Judge D. Michael Stine admitted them into the program and imposed certain conditions. If they successfully completes all conditions of the program they can have the criminal charge removed from their record. The program is for first offenders who committed a non-violent crime.All were admitted for a year, unless otherwise noted:Paula A. Blasko, 50, of 47 E. Phillips St., Coaldale, driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, assessed $500 to defray the cost of the program, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Saint Luke's Miners Hospital for lab work, enroll in alcohol highway safe driving school, perform 10 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 30 days.
