Luzerne woman facing drug count

A Luzerne County woman is facing a drug count following an incident that occurred at a hospital in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Mychal Lauren Beltrami, 27, of Hazleton, was brought to St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, on April 10 about 5:14 p.m. for a drug overdose that occurred in front of the Dollar Store in the Jamesway Plaza in Tamaqua.While being treated hospital personnel found 10 packets of a powdery substance on her. The packets were suspected to be illegal drugs and were turned over to troopers.The packets were test and proved positive as heroin. A criminal complaint has been filed at the office of District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua, charging Beltrami with possession of a controlled substance-heroin.
