The club is for all area residents interested in knitting, crocheting, and other crafts. The club meets in the library the first and third Monday of each month. Call Jane Borbe at (610) 767-5638 with your reservation by Aug. 6.Paper driveThe men and boys of St. John's Lutheran Church will hold their monthly newspaper drive on Saturday, Aug. 4. There will be one sweep of the Palmerton, Aquashicola, and Little Gap areas beginning at 8 a.m.Papers should be bundled and placed within sight of the collectors. They are collecting papers only, no magazines. The shiny inserts are acceptable. They also need grocery size brown paper bags.Persons missed, or those wishing to dispose of papers throughout the month, may take them to the garage across from the church on Fireline Road, which is always open. In case of bad weather, the drive will be held the following Saturday.Park ConcertAt 7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 5, Becky and the Beasts will perform in the Palmerton Borough Park. Bring your own lawn chair.In case of rain, the concert will be held in the Borough Hall, 443 Delaware Ave. Next week, Aug. 12, the Hazleton Band will perform a concert.
