Drug arrests at Pocono carnival

Several individuals are facing drug charges following two separate incidents at the a firemens carnival being held in Mount Pocono last week.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said about 9:18 p.m. on July 24 officers observed a suspicious activity in the parking lot of the carnival. Officers observed four individuals inside a vehicle and made contact with them after they exited the vehicle. After speaking with the occupants officers returned to the suspect vehicle and observed a large amount of drug paraphernalia and narcotics inside the vehicle.The paraphernalia found is used for distribution and selling narcotics, police allege. A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle and it revealed additional contraband.The driver, Jakub Sztandera, 19, of Long Pond, and occupants Pentikhet Sims, 19, of Long Pond, Cartier Scuccimarri, 18, of Tobyhanna, and Emily Mack, 20, of Gouldsboro, will be charged with several drug related offenses, police said. The investigation is continuing.The second incident occurred about 10:13 p.m. on July 25. Officers observed more suspicious activity in the parking lot. Officers made contact with four individuals in a vehicle and detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.The driver, Travis Daring, 18, and passenger, Montel Major, 20, both of Tobyhanna, were taken into custody after drug paraphernalia was found in their possession.A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle and found was a large amount of marijuana and additional drug paraphernalia used for the distribution and sale of narcotics, police allege.Two passengers, Tristan McFarlane, 21, of Tobyhanna, and Taalib Johnson, 23, of Mount Pocono, are facing drug charges, police added. The investigation is continuing.
