Lehighton Fire Department answered 13 calls in June

The Lehighton Fire Department responded to 13 calls during the month of June.

Of those calls, five were for rescues, three were automatic alarms, two each were dwelling fires and miscellaneous calls, and one was for a brush fire.The time spent on calls collectively was 40 hours and 41 minutes, with clean-up time being another 20 hours.The report for June was submitted by Fire Chief Gary Frable.Frable said there were three weekly training session held.He noted that 98 man hours were spent maintaining apparatus, equipment, and stations.Another 88 man hours of in-house training occurred.Of Lehighton's 13 calls, seven were in the borough, four were mutual aid, and one each was in Mahoning Township and Weissport.
