'Courageous' to be shown in Tamaqua

The Tamaqua Area Faith Fellowship Network (TAFFN) invites all residents of the Tamaqua area to attend a free showing of the movie "Courageous" on Sunday, July 29, at the Tamaqua Middle School Auditorium from 3 to 5 p.m.

"Courageous" is about four men with one calling: To serve and protect. As law enforcement officers, these men are confident and focused. Yet at the end of the day they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood. While they consistently give their best on the job, good enough seems to be all they can muster as dads. This film explores the challenges that real dads face every day trying to balance work, family and life.Members of the TAFFN spoke extensively with community leaders, law enforcement personnel, educators, and members of the community about how to make the area a safe and enjoyable community in which to live and raise a family.Much of the feedback pointed to the simple fact that healthy communities have healthy families and this event is just one step in achieving the goal of strong family network.More details on the movie can be found at
