Jim Thorpe students participate in Pennsylvania technology expo

This past spring, six Jim Thorpe Area School District students participated in the Pennsylvania Educational Technology Expo and Conference (PETE&C) Student Showcase in Hershey. The topic was, "Handhelds and Portable Devices in the Classroom."

A few 11th grade students were showcasing how handheld/portable devices, such as iPads and Tablets, have the potential as learning tools in the classroom. The students who attended the showcase were in Kindergarten, Fourth, and Eleventh grades. The two fourth grade students that attended the showcase, demonstrated how handheld/portable devices can be used as teaching tools by using math, reading, and science applications with two kindergarten students.
