An incident that was reported at 1:35 p.m. July 19 in Wayne Township, Schuylkill County, resulted in simple assault charges against a Schuylkill Haven couple.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said Scott M. Bowers, 31, and Nadine M. mason, 29, were engaged in a verbal argument that turned physical at 319 S. Front St. in the township. Police said Bowers pushed Mason, causing her to fall to the ground. Mason then struck Bowers multiple times with a cooking pot, causing open lacerations on the forehead.
