Rockin' Rescue Day will bring pet adoption resources to area

Rockin' Rescue Day will be held from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, and will bring pet lovers, education and resources together at the Lehighton Park.

Along with music throughout the day, there will be a variety of animal rescue groups and shelters on hand with pets available for adoption. All non profit animal rescue groups are invited to set up for adoptions, education and rescue. Among the rescue groups is Rescue Ink, who is starting to shoot a new season on television.At 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Rehab X, offering dance, pop and rock will perform; and then from 3 to 4:30 p.m., Senile Delinquents, a classic rock band playing music from the 60s, 70s and 80s will take the stage. Waiting for Katie will play from 5 to 6:30 p.m., playing great hits from the classic rock era; and from 7 to 8:30 p.m., the Bees Knees will bring the Beatles, 60s, 70s and 80s sounds to Lehighton. Crime Dog Karaoke will be sponsored by Lehighton Crime Watch.Jukebox Cruisers Car Show will begin at 1 p.m.This event has a little something for everyone, with a games, prizes, bake sale, raffles and crafters.There will also be microchipping by Amazing Grace.For more information, contact Donna Crum at (610) 826-5113 or email
