Man rescued from Lehigh

Members of the Lehighton Fire Department prepare a raft to aid in the rescue of a man trapped in the Lehigh River just north of Jim Thorpe Saturday afternoon. It was reported the man fell down a 30-foot embankment into the river. Members of the Jim Thorpe Fire Department utilized all terrain vehicles to travel up a nearby railroad bed to gain access to the 52-year-old victim. Due to the severe weather which was near the scene a medical transport helicopter was denied. The victim was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, in Salisbury Township.
