A Coaldale woman has joined her husband as a licensed funeral director, making her the first woman mortician in the immediate area. Mrs. August Gulla of East Ridge Street, was notified that she successfully passed her Pennsylvania State Board of Examination. She is the former Mildred Holoviak of Hauto. Mrs. Gulla has had an active career as a nurse, serving many years at the Coaldale State General Hospital. She also worked in nursing in a supervisory capacity at Hamburg State School and Hospital for eight years.
