A Tamaqua man pleaded guilty to selling illegal drugs and a Mahanoy City woman to covering up a suicide and both were sentenced in the Schuylkill County Court.

Kevin M. Parsons, 24, last known address, 225 Pine St., Tamaqua, pleaded guilty last April 10 to selling illegal drugs to a confidential informant (CI) for the Schuylkill County Drug Task Force.After a pre-investigative report had been completed by the adult probation department President Judge William E. Baldwin sentenced Parsons to serve two to 23 months in the county prison with credit for serving 10 days and is eligible to participate in the work release program. His jail sentence will begin Saturday, June 16, at 9 a. m.He also must pay fines totaling $500, pay $200 to the Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, make restitution of $50 to the drug task force, and $373 lab fee. The sales were made at the 225 Pine Street residency in September 2010.He received a 30 days probation sentence on two counts of possession of a small amount of marijuana and 12 month probation sentence on two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia which run concurrent.Suicide caseTammy Melissa Casserly, 39, Mahanoy City, pleaded guilty last March 3 to tampering or fabricating physical evidence to cover a suicide by removing the pistol and for furnishing false information to police was sentenced by Baldwin to serve eight to 23 months in the county prison.She was arrested by Cpl. James Cuttitta, state trooper, on Feb. 22, 2010.The police discovered Mark Ketusky in a vehicle at the Mahanoy City Little League Complex. He was deceased from a gun shot wound to the right side of his head but police found no weapon. Officer Duane Fredericks, Rush Township police, and Deputy Coroner Dave Trusky participated in the investigation and discovered Casserly had removed the weapon after Ketusky committed suicide.
