Three men who pleaded guilty to selling drugs were sentenced by Judge Charles M. Miller in Schuylkill County court to serve two years on probation in a state program. Also, Judge John E. Domalakes sentenced a Pine Grove man to a prison term after he had been found guilty by a jury of driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol.

Peter J. Schultz, 46, Hegins, was sentenced to serve 24 months on probation in a state program. He had pleaded guilty to dealing in sale of illegal drugs in his hometown.He must serve a miniumum of seven months in the state prison of which not less than four months must be spent in an institutional therapeutic community and a minimum of six months in treatment through an outpatient treatment facility followed by a period of supervised reintegration unto the community for the balance of the sentence. He received credit for spending 59 days in the county prison.He also must pay $400 to the Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $200 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund, $893 to Bethlehem Regional Lab, and $240 to Hegins Township Police Department.Larry Todd Wilcox, 44, Bloomsburg, received a similar sentence to serve 24 months on probation in a state correctional facility. He had pleaded guilty to manufacturing methamphetamine in a motel in Frackville. He received credit for spending 101 days in the county prison. He also must pay $100 to the SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, and $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab.Kyle Andrew McDaniel, 19, Pottsville, selling illegal drugs and fleeing from Pottsville police, was also placed for 24 months in the state's Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP). He received credit for spending 59 days in the county prison. He has to pay $100 to the SAE and $50 to CJEA funds.Jerry William Lucas, Pine Grove, who was found guilty last April 18 of DUI on Interstate 81 in Pine Grove Township, was sentenced by Judge John E. Domalakes to serve 12 months to five years in the county prison with the sentence to begin Thursday, June 21, at 9 a.m., pay a fine of $2,500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $200 to Catastrophe fund, attend alcohol highway safety school, receive outpatient treatment and counseling, and driver's license suspended 18 months.Each defendant must also pay other court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
