It will be a grand old time on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend at the No. 9 Coal Mine and Museum in Lansford as they celebrate the holiday with their annual Old Fashioned Miners Picnic.

The event will feature many activities, such as an Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Car Show, homemade ethnic foods, mine tours, wreath laying, a Civil War encampment and a special display of Flags of American History by the Carbon County Navy Club. Other attractions will consist of music, the feel of pomp and circumstance ceremonies, the smells of homemade ethnic foods, the sights of vintage and classic cars and the sounds of Civil War soldiers.The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., is open to the public. Admission, parking and presentations are all free.
