Lewistown Valley Garden Club

The Lewistown Valley Garden Club held its annual tea April 26 in the social hall of Zion Church, Lewistown Valley. More than 40 members and guests were in attendance.A short business session was conducted by President June Leiby and Vice President Kathy McGee.Members were reminded of the dates for the 2012 Schuylkill County Fair with entry information due to be available by mid May.The tea committee included Louise Flexer, Evelyn Adams and McGee, with Judy Kellner and Leiby serving as pourers. Kellner provided the table arrangement and members provided the refreshments.Following the tea, John Papanek of Edwards Flowers of Tamaqua, provided a program on constructing floral arrangements, complete with numerous tips. A question and answer period was included.The next meeting will be held May 29 at 7 p.m.The program will include a table top water garden presentation by Sue Greenawalt, a Schuylkill County Master Gardener.The public is welcome to attend and may make reservations by calling (570) 668-4288.Trinity UCCThe Rev.
