Concert events every weekend during June at Penn's Peak

The line-up of concert events at Penn's Peak keeps on growing, with three shows recently added.

They are Herman's Hermits starring Peter Noone on Oct. 5, country star Tanya Tucker on Oct. 14, and another country great Travis Tritt, who will be bringing his Christmas show to the venue on Nov. 30.Coming up next to Penn's Peak is Dennis DeYoung - The Music of Styx on Saturday, May 12.Dennis DeYoung has the distinction of having one of the most recognizable voices in the world. He was a founding member of what would eventually become Styx when he was merely 14 years old. Over four decades later, Dennis is still going strong as a solo artist, songwriter, keyboardist and record producer. He made famous several classic songs such as "Lady," "Come Sail Away," "Mr. Roboto" and the 1979 People's Choice Award Winner, "Babe."Dennis DeYoung's solo album, 2007's "One Hundred Years From Now," was released only in Canada and the title track hit #1 on the Pop, Rock and AC charts in Quebec. In 2009, it was released in the U.S.His compositions have been featured in over 30 television shows (The Simpson's, ER, King of Queens, Will and Grace, etc.) and his songs have been featured in 15 major motion pictures (Disney's Atlantis, The Shrek II DVD, The Karate Kid II, etc.).The most recent resurgence of one of his songs was when "Mr. Roboto" became a hit national commercial for Volkswagen. Since 2010, Dennis has been touring with a new incarnation of Styx. August Zadra, Jimmy Leahy, Tom Sharpe, Craig Carter, John Blasucci and Suzanne DeYoung are the members of the band and they are dedicated to the legacy of Styx.Returning to Penn's Peak on May 31 is Dark Star Orchestra,Dark Star Orchestra performs the Grateful Dead just like the Grateful Dead did during their 30 years of touring. Dark Star Orchestra will, on any given night, perform a show based on one of the thousands of set lists from the Grateful Dead's touring years.DSO has been touring for 11 years and in January of 2011 they performed their 1,900th show still with the determination and commitment to "raising the Dead." No detail is missed in the set up of a Dark Star Orchestra show. The band will adapt their stage positioning, vocal arrangements, equipment and even the instrument placement to match the era of the show they are resurrecting that night. Some of the other major acts coming to Penn's Peak in the near future include Nitty Gritty Dirt Band ("Mr. Bojangles," "Dance Little Jean"), America ("Horse With No Name," "Tin Man"), comedian Steven Wright, Foreigner ("Feels Like The First Time," "I Want To Know What Love Is"), Vince Gill ("I Still Believe In You," "What the Cowgirls Do,") and Tanya Tucker ("Here's Some Love," "Blood Red and Going Down)."The list of upcoming events at Penn's Peak is as follows:ScheduleMay•12 - Dennis DeYoung - The Music of Styx, 8 p.m. Tickets $34 and $39.• 31 - Dark Star Orchestra, 8 p.m. Tickets $24 advance, $29 day of show.June• 2 - Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, 8 p.m. Tickets $24 advance, $29 day of show.• 8 - America - 40th Anniversary Tour, 8 p.m. Tickets $35 and $40.• 9 - Southern Fury Tour with Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot, and Jimmie Van Zant, 8 p.m. Tickets $25 advance, $30 day of show.• 14 - Kellie Pickler, 8 p.m. Tickets $32 and $37.• 15 - 7 Bridges - The Ultimate Eagles Experience, 8 p.m. Tickets $17 advance, $22 day of show.• 16 - The Machine, 8 p.m. Tickets $25 and $30.• 24 - Steven Wright, 8 p.m. Tickets $29 and $34.• 29 - Foreigner, 8 p.m. Tickets $45 and $55.• 30 - Johnny Winter with special guest Magic Slim & The Teardrops, 8 p.m. Tickets $25 advance, $30 day of show.July• 1 - Cinderella, 8 p.m. - Tickets $30 advance, $35 day of show.• 13 - Arrival - World's Greatest ABBA Tribute, 8 p.m. Tickets $23 and $28.• 14 - Raymond the Amish Comic, 8 p.m. Tickets $15 advance, $20 day of show.• 15 - Yonder Mountain String Band, 8 p.m. Tickets $17 advance, $22 day of show.• 19 - Uriah Heep, 8 p.m. Tickets $22 advance, $27 day of show.• 20 - Jim Messina, 8 p.m. Tickets $23 advance, $28 day of show.• 27 - 7 Walkers, 8 p.m. Tickets $20 advance, $25 day of show.August• 18 - Vince Gill, 8 p.m. Tickets $49 and $54.October• 5 - Herman's Hermits - Starring Peter Noone, 8 p.m. Tickets $27 and $32.
