Smoke detectors

The Jim Thorpe Fire Department still has smoke detectors available for any borough resident who needs one. If you are interested, contact Bill Diehm, fire chief, at (570) 325-3890. He also states that the detectors are not for commercial properties.Positions availableThe Jim Thorpe Borough Council will be accepting letter of interest for the following positions in the borough. They are Jim Thorpe Zoning Hearing Board and the Jim Thorpe Planning Commission. Those interested are to place their letters of intent in an envelope marked for the board they wish to apply for and mail it to the borough office.All letters must be received by 3 p.m. on May 10.
