Food PantryThe Nesquehoning Food Pantry, located in the Meed's Methodist Church, will hold its monthly distribution of nonperishable food items to those in need from 1-3:30 p.m., Thursday, March 15. This will be the regular Easter distribution.Recipients must reside in the borough of Nesquehoning and fall within TEFAP income guidelines. Persons who have been receiving the food "boxes" are asked to note that no telephone reminders will be made.Please consider donating your time to help keep the food pantry operating for those in need.Rec center egg huntAn Easter egg hunt will be held at the Nesquehoning Recreation Center on Saturday, March 31 at 2 p.m.Children must be 10 years old or younger and residents of Nesquehoning. A sign-up sheet will be available at the recreation center during Wednesday night bingo from 5-10 p.m.LansfordSt. John LutheranThere will be a Lenten Service at St. John the Evangelist Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, Wednesday at 7 p.m. This will be an evening Prayer Service with Holy Communion.For those who wish to come early, a free simple supper will be served at 6 p.m.For more information call the Rev. Marjorie Keiter at (570) 273-4038. Service will not be held if school is canceled or dismissed early due to bad weather on Wednesdays.
