Indeed, The Mill at 7130 Bake Oven Road in Germansville is an animal lover's delight thanks to a wide assortment of items.The establishment can also add another notch to its belt now that it's been chosen as Business of the Month by the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce.Owned by companions Rodney Schlauch Jr., and Lori Wassell, with Fred Schlauch as General Manager, the business has recently undergone a transition of sorts.Since 1986, the business had been owned by Rodney's parents. That changed this past summer when the couple retired, which prompted a change in ownership."We're really excited and thrilled to be recognized, with this being so new for both of us," Wassell said. "It's a very new situation, so getting that nod from the Chamber is great, and shows we're doing things in the right direction because it's the people that makes this place run."The Mill provides feed and supplies for animals, such as local hay and straw; carry a full line of products to care for animals, from feeders to waterers, gates, fencing supplies, tack, birdfeeders and houses, and pet supplies; as well as seeds, fertilizer, herbicides and pesticides (including organic) for farms large and small.At some point, Wassell said the business plans to expand its lawn, garden, and landscaping choices, and offer a wider selection of organic products. Evening hours may also be added in the future, she said."We're a place where people come for their animals for feed and care products," she said.
