An American Red Cross Bloodmobile will visit Tamaqua on Jan. 25. The collection site will be St. John United Church of Christ on Pine Street. Hours will be from 1 to 6 p.m.Anyone 17 or older, who weighs at least 110 pounds and is in good general health, is eligible to donate blood.To schedule an appointment, call (800) 733-2767 or visit the organization's website at

Appointments will then be scheduled for March.Children residing within the Tamaqua Area School District who will reach the age of 5 before Sept. 1, 2012 are eligible to attend kindergarten classes.To register, call (570) 668-3306 the week of Feb. 27, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., and from 1-3 p.m. to schedule an appointment.Proof of residency, health records, original birth certificates and original Social Security cards will be required.Children will be evaluated by a classroom teacher, nurse and speech therapist.Democrats reorganizationThe Eastern Schuylkill County Democrats will hold a reorganizational meeting on Monday, at 7:30 p.m., at the East End Fire Company.The public is welcome to attend.Courageous seriesThe movie "Courageous" will be presented at 6:30 p.m., Jan. 22, at Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, 223 E. Broad St., Tamaqua.The film presents important messages concerning faith and family and tells the story of four law enforcement officers as they each try to raise their familiesThere is no fee associated with the movie presentation.In conjunction with the movie presentation, Bethany will offer the courageous series of seminars for men and women. The groups will each meet separately, from 7-8:30 p.m., on Feb. 10, providing gender based looks on "resolution." The sessions will continue to meet on Fridays, at the same time. Sunday school classes meet at 9:15 a.m.Also on Sunday, a praise, worship and Bible study, in the evangelistic style, will be held at 6:30 p.m.Wednesday prayer and praise services are held at 7 p.m. in the church.Zion LewistownThe Rev. Sunny Stock will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Zion Church in the Lewistown Valley.
