The Slatington Public Library has received a grant of $5,672 from the Mickley/Fravel Charitable Trust, which will be used to pay for operating expenses.
Preschool story hour takes place on Wednesdays at 11 a.m.The library accepts book donations, with the exception of encyclopedias, text books, and Reader's Digest condensed books. There is always a used book sale in the library. The price of sale books are now 50 cents for hardcover and 25 cents for paperbacks.Library hours are Monday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., closed Thursday and Sunday.The library is offering a new service for patrons with eBook readers, iPods and other mobile devices.
